PURPOSE OF REPORT
This report brings forward a motion for Council’s consideration to approve recipients of 2020 Community Recognition Awards.

The recommendations are pursuant to Council Policy C-CS-03 Community Recognition Program.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
As per Policy C-CS-03, Community Recognition Program, Administration advertised and accepted nominations for this program until February 15, 2020. Seven nominations were submitted.

The Community Services Advisory Committee (CSAC), and the Environmental Advisory Committee reviewed the applications relevant to their Committees as outlined in Policy C-CS-03 Community Recognition Program. Council was then confidentially advised of the names of the nominees supported by these citizens committees to be honored through the 2020 Community Recognition Program.


· Dolores Andressen (Environmental Stewardship).

Dolores is a life long environmental advocate. In 1990, Dolores, along with a few additional community members started the Environmental Action Committee. One of the successes of this newly formed committee was the introduction of curbside recycling and organic collection programs almost 20 years earlier than these programs were introduced city-wide.
