That the following St. Albert Games Legacy Award Program grants be awarded:

Cantilon Chamber Youth Choir: $187.50 to each of the following St. Albert members: Alyssa Gallardo, Danika Grobbelaar, Lauren Hanson, Alyssa Kraus, Grayson Mackenzie, Faith Merryweather, Adam Skogstad, and Julianna Tinga to compete at the International Choir Competition in Hungary

Jacob Cole: $750 for the 2018 Karate Canada National Championships
Maureen Dwyer: $750 for the 2018 Boston Marathon
Bailey Fawcett: $750 for the 2018 Canadian Synchro Swimming Championships
Aidan MacLeod: $750 for the 2018 National Karate Championship
Kirsten McEachern: $750 for the 2018 Canadian Ringette Championships
Madelyn Radchenko: $750 for the 2018 Junior World Cheerleading Championships
Shailyn Rockey: $554.50 for the 2018 Junior World Cheerleading Championships

PURPOSE OF REPORT

This report brings forward a recommendation from the Community Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) for allocation from the spring intake of applications for the 2018 Games Legacy Award Program grant fund for Council’s consideration and approval, as per Policy C-CS-01.

COUNCIL DIRECTION

The Council direction that has resulted in this matter being brought before Council is contained in Council Policy C-CS-01 St. Albert Games Legacy Award Program and the corresponding administrative procedures.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

As per the Games Legacy Award Program Policy C-CS-01, the City may offer financial assistance to eligible St. Albert community groups, individuals, and teams for eligible programs, projects, and events in the areas of amateur sports or the arts.
