ASP Approval Process

PURPOSE OF REPORT
On June 13, 2017 Councillor Hughes provided notice in accordance with Section 23 of Procedure Bylaw 22/2016 that she intended to bring forward the proposed motion below.
In order for Council to debate the motion, the motion must be formally moved.
PROPOSED MOTION(S):
recommendation
That the applicable polices and procedures are amended to require that new ASP developments and/or major ASP revisions are presented to council at the beginning of the development approval process for council discussion of whether the city would want to purchase land within the ASP discussion lands for city purposes, such as larger school sites, additional park space or city facility needs.
