PURPOSE OF REPORT
The purpose of this report is to make an amendment to the roster for deputy mayor for the 2023-2024 Council year.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Procedure Bylaw 24/2022 requires the deputy mayor schedule to be adopted by Council at every Organizational Meeting. The deputy mayor assumes the roles of chair when the mayor is not present at a Council or Committee of the Whole meeting, and each councillor acts as deputy mayor for two months each year of the Council term based on the rotation assigned at the Organizational Meeting.
The deputy mayor schedule that was adopted by Council at the last Organizational Meeting on October 24, 2023 requires a slight amendment in order to enable two councillors to swap previously scheduled months.
ALIGNMENT TO COUNCIL DIRECTION OR MANDATORY STATUTORY PROVISION
On October 24, 2023 Council passed the following motion:

That the following roster for Deputy Mayor for the 2023-2024 Council year is established, and that in the absence of both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor the next scheduled Deputy Mayor shall assume the role of Acting Mayor:
2023 November-December Councillor Brodhead
2024 January-February Councillor Hughes
2024 March-April Councillor Joly
2024 May-June Councillor MacKay
2024 July-August Councillor Biermanski
2024 September-October Councillor Killick.
