REASON FOR TIME EXTENSION REQUEST
This policy is Council’s direction for Administration related to ongoing review of programs and services. This policy has a strong link to the Internal Audit Committee practices and processes that, ideally, would be enabled and supported by the Program and Service Review Policy and related Administrative Directive. The extension is requested to allow for better alignment between the Program and Service Review Policy and the Internal Audit Committee defined practice and related processes.
PRIOR COUNCIL DIRECTION
On August 30, 2021 Council approved Motion (AR-21-339):
That the amended Council Policy C-CG-06 - City of St. Albert Strategic Framework, provided as an attachment to the August 30, 2021 agenda report entitled "Council Policy C-CG-06, City of St. Albert Strategic Framework Policy", be approved.
That Administration review and bring forward any other Council policies that may require updates as a result of amended Council Policy C-CG-06 - City of St. Albert Strategic Framework by the end of Q2 2022.
BACKGROUND
The Program and Service Review Policy is the last of the policies that requires amendments as it relates to the recently approved Strategic Framework. Given the recent workplan established by the Internal Audit Committee it would be prudent to also await general direction from the committee to ensure alignment with the policy.
