That Council authorize the Chief Administrative Officer to execute a grant agreement with the Government of Alberta through the Alberta Community Partnership Strategic Initiatives Grant for $450,000 to support the development of the Collaborative Economic Development framework.

PURPOSE OF REPORT

Council is being asked to provide authorization for the Chief Administrative Officer to execute a conditional grant agreement between the Province of Alberta and the City of St. Albert for a $450,000 Alberta Community Partnership Strategic Initiatives Grant. The purpose of the grant is to support the development of the Collaborative Economic Development framework. This initiative is supported by all thirteen municipalities within the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

The City of St. Albert has been approved for a $450,000 grant under the 2021/22 Alberta Community Partnership (ACP) Program by the Minister of Municipal Affairs for the Collaborative Economic Development (CED) project.
