That $15,000 be put back in the Public Works budget for the Take It Or Leave It Event, funded from the tax levy.

Administration’s Understanding of the Intent of the Motion:
That $15,000 will return to the Utility Operating budget and that the annual Take It or Leave It event will occur in 2022 as originally planned. The motion should be revised to indicate that the re-introduction of this service level will be funded through utility rates rather than tax levy.

This would add to the Utility Operating budget, resulting in a rate increase.

Background:
The City offers a public one-day event for collection of large items in good condition. The event allows residents to drop off items they do not want and
pick up items left by other people. This event is primarily funded through staff overtime (approx. 30 staff) and expenses include equipment, bin rentals
and communications.
