BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
Engagement encourages participation, action, personal responsibility and democracy. St. Albert’s “Cultivate the Conversation” online platform is a tool to help provide public participation opportunities beyond our current activities; this is especially timely with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. It offers several useful input tools and rich media in one convenient place and is available for use 24/7.

Residents register an account (one-time) providing a user-name, email address, age-range, and postal code. Once registered, they can provide input on all project sites. The site is moderated by the provider 24/7 to ensure appropriate use.

There is a range of open and controlled engagement environments including discussion forums, idea-generation boards, interactive mapping, storyboards, polls and surveys. We will also be able to use the software to evaluate programs that our departments provide.
