PURPOSE OF REPORT

 

The purpose of this report is to bring to Council for debate a motion in respect of which Councillor Watkins gave notice on December 10, 2019.   The Motion was scheduled for debate at the Community Living Standing Committee meeting on January 13, 2020, however no committee member chose to move the motion.

 

 

PROPOSED MOTION(S):

recommendation

 

That a one year pilot project be conducted whereby the dog licencing fee for spayed or neutered dogs be reduced by 50%  for residents over the age of 65 and that the estimated cost of $32,300 be funded from stabilization reserve fund. After one year the pilot shall be assessed including among other things, the total cost to the municipality and usage.
