CLSC Rec - FCSS Program: Funding Approval

RECOMMENDATION(S)
recommendation
That the Community Living Standing Committee recommend to Council that a portion of the 2020 FCSS proposed budgeted program funding be allocated as follows:
• St. Albert Community Information and Volunteer Centre $11,300
o Sidekicks Mentoring Program Interim
Funding
• St. Albert Community Village and Food Bank Society $6,600
o Community Income Tax Program

PURPOSE OF REPORT
The purpose of this report is to bring forward the recommendation(s) from the January 13, 2020 Community Living Standing Committee meeting.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
NOTE - The following motion was approved at the January 13, 2020 CLSC meeting and will be forwarded to the March 2, 2020 Council meeting:
"That the Community Living Standing Committee recommend to Council that Policy C-CS-14 FCSS Program Funding be revised to enhance the allocation process to improve our ability to best address unmet or emerging needs of residents by Q1 2020."
NOTE - The following motion was presented and failed on vote:
"That the Community Living Standing Committee recommend to Council that Policy C-CS-14 FCSS Program Funding be revised to allow Big Brothers and Big Sisters to access funding for the portion of services allocated to St. Albert."
