Administration’s Understanding of Intent Motion:
Administration understands passing of PM 20-058 will eliminate funding associated with delivering next prioritized actions for implementing Neighbourhood Traffic Calming strategies in 2020. Project Charters for future Neighbourhood Traffic Calming programs (2021 and forward) may be developed for consideration.

Operational or Organizational Impacts if Motion is Approved:
Administration would not be able to react to new resident requests associated with Council Policy C-TS-02: Neighbourhood Traffic Calming, as current funding is committed to communities enacting this policy.

Financial Implications of Motions:
This motion would reduce $550,000 from the Capital Growth 2020 proposed budget for reduction of capital expenditures or reallocation of value to alternative capital projects.

Stakeholder Consultations:
Pending received construction costs, the committed funds by themselves may result in less scope of work completed, to which notification would be recommended to residents of the community, such as Erin Ridge, Erin Ridge North or Grandin.

Background:
Administration is currently enacting the Neighbourhood Traffic Calming program under 2018 and 2019 approved budgets:

2) 2019 - committed with $450,171 remaining funds.
3) Total value of approved funds (2018 + 2019) = $859,084

Funds are currently committed to executing traffic calming improvements in the communities of Erin Ridge (five sites) and Grandin (Grosvenor Blvd at Grenfell Ave).
In addition, actions are occurring in the community of Lacombe Park (East) that have funds committed to public engagement...
