Administration’s Understanding of Intent Motion:
That the ongoing budget for Council contingency be reduced by $54,000 to $15,000

Financial Implications of Motions:
Ongoing budget would be reduced to $15,000 starting in 2020 and $54,000 will be returned to offset taxes. Impacts cost center 1010 account 6925.

Background:
Currently, Council has an ongoing annual budget of $69,000 as a contingency for Council to utilize towards items/initiatives that come up duing the year. Should this motion pass there will only be $15,000 available to Council to address these items. It should be noted however this this budget has not been widely used in past years.
