PURPOSE OF REPORT

The purpose of this report is to bring forward proposed amendments to Municipal Naming Policy for Council to review and approval.

COUNCIL DIRECTION

On November 13, 2018, the Governance, Priorities, and Finance Committee approved the following motions:

1. That section 10.b.v. of C-CC-05 of the proposed policy is amended to:

v. Made a significant contribution service in areas that have benefited the community such as: agriculture, the arts, education, business or industry, journalism, medicine, politics, science, recreation, human rights and environmental stewardship, and sports on a local, national, or international scale, to the extent that their actions have brought great honour to the City.

2. AR-18-455
That the November 13, 2018 agenda report entitled “Municipal Naming Policy Amendments”, be received as information.

3. That the Governance, Priorities and Finance Committee recommend to Council that the City Council Policy C-CC-05, Municipal Naming, provided as an Attachment to the agenda report entitled “Municipal Naming Policy Amendments” report dated November 13, 2018, be approved, as amended.
