RECOMMENDATION(S)
recommendation
That members of the public be appointed to the City of St. Albert civic agencies; and, that previously appointed and newly appointed Assessment Review Board members be assigned to specific Local and Composite Assessment Review Boards for terms effective January 1, 2019 as specified in the attachments "Public Appointments to St. Albert Civic Agencies" and "Assignment of Assessment Review Board Members to Specific Boards" to the “Civic Agency Appointments” agenda report dated November 26, 2018.

PURPOSE OF REPORT
This report brings forward recommendations for appointments of public members to the City of St. Albert’s civic agencies and assignments to the Local and Composite Assessment Review Boards.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
In total, 59 applications were received from the public, including individuals reapplying and new applicants.
In accordance with City Council Policy C-CC-12, Civic Agencies, Council met on November 17, 2018 for the purpose of interviewing candidates and recommending appointments to fill vacancies on the City of St. Albert civic agencies.
Bylaw 35/2018 Assessment Review Boards establishes one three-member and two one-member Local Assessment Review Boards (LARBs) and two one-member and two three-member Composite Assessment Review Boards (CARBs). All Assessment Review Board members must complete provincially mandated training, therefore the recommended appointment of each new member to the Assessment Review Board is subject to his or her completion of the required training program.
