That Libby Thomas and Ashley Peck be appointed as members of the Community Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) for a term beginning on January 27, 2026 and ending on December 31, 2026.

SUMMARY

Legislative Services received two resignations from members of the Community Services Advisory Committee, therefore this report is brought forward to fill those vacancies.

ALIGNMENT TO COUNCIL DIRECTION OR MANDATORY STATUTORY PROVISION

Section 11 of the Community Services Advisory Committee Bylaw 10/1997 states that:

Where a member is disqualified or resigns, Council may appoint another eligible person for a term as specified by Council that expires on December 31st of a year specified by Council.

Civic Agency Policy C-CC-12 states:

3. If a member of the civic agency is unable to complete the term of office as required, that member shall be replaced by Council appointment, provided that at least five months are left in the member's term of office.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

On January 6 and January 8, 2026, two members of the Community Services Advisory Committee submitted their resignations effective immediately with terms ending December 31, 2026. The recommendation brings forward two new appointments who will be completing the terms of the previous members as indicated above.
