SUMMARY
In accordance with section 5(c) of Procedure Bylaw 24/2022, the Nominating Committee appoints members of Council to serve on Council Committees and external boards and agencies. This process is conducted annually.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Nominating Committee met on November 5, 2025, to consider and make recommendations for the appointment of members of Council to the Council Committees and External Agencies on which Council representation is required.
In addition to the recommendations, it should be noted that all Council Members serve on the following committees:
• Committee of the Whole
• Standing Committee of the Whole
• Nominating Committee

IMPACTS OF ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED
ALTERNATIVE 1. Council does not approve the appointments of Council members to Committees and External Agencies during the November 18, 2025 regular Council meeting.

Compliance & Legal:
If Council does not approve the appointments of Council members to Committees and External Agencies during the November 18, 2025 regular Council meeting, the following meetings will go ahead with Council member appointments:
• Community Services Advisory Committee: November 25
• Arts Development Advisory Committee: November 26
• Environmental Advisory Committee: November 27
• Seniors’ Advisory Committee: November 27
• Arrow Utilities: November 28 (org meeting)
• Edmonton Salutes Committee: November 28
The next opportunity for these Legislative Appointments to be considered by Council will be the December 2, 2025 regular Council meeting, or earlier if a special meeting of Council is convened.

The Council Advisory Committee meetings may proceed without council members appointed.
